Zinc ingots are ideal for a wide range of processes and especially suitable for applications requiring corrosion resistance. Most zinc produced in the United States is used for galvanizing, a corrosion-resistant process used to protect steel products. Zinc ingots have very good strength at high temperatures and good resistance to corrosion.

They have a low melting point and are ductile and malleable, easily welded or soldered. Zinc ingots are bright white and non-magnetic. When heated, zinc becomes ductile and malleable. During cutting or hammering, it does not spark. In addition to all these properties, zinc has various applications in industrial environments and conditions.

Zinc can also be used in the galvanizing industry, where a process applies a zinc coating to steel to prevent corrosion on the surface. However, this mechanism can only be used on steel that is properly cleaned of any dirt or oil before the protective zinc layer is applied.

Zinc Ingot

Zinc is a widely used alloy metal because of its excellent corrosion resistance, low melting point, and good thermal stability. It can be used to optimize the properties of steels by replacing part of the iron with zinc. Zinc is also used in cast irons to improve toughness and reduce brittleness.

Application of zinc in the galvanizing industry: Zinc plating of steel is a cost-effective method for protecting steel against corrosion, used as a base or final coat for new steel products such as pipes and tanks. Surfaces coated with galvanized coating have good resistance to humid weather attacks, but due to their porous nature, they easily allow water to pass through; it is noteworthy that in salty marine environments or other harsh conditions, they do not have high resistance without additional protection.

Zinc ingots are used to produce zinc oxide, zinc chloride, and zinc carbonate, as well as in the production of zinc dust. Zinc is produced either by smelting or by electrolysis, where it is combined with coke at very high temperatures to produce a mixture of metal, carbon dioxide gas, and other impurities that are eventually removed by passing through a stream of water or air. The resulting product composition is mainly of zinc, a pure metal, but may contain up to 10% impurities such as lead or iron, which can be removed with further refining using different methods depending on their solubility, such as flotation for fine particles or gravity separation for large particles.

Zinc Powder

Zinc powder is produced from the condensation of zinc vapor and is a raw material for chemical industries dependent on zinc metal, such as paint and pharmaceutical industries. Some features of this compound are consistent quality, improved performance, and fast reaction time. Zinc dust is essentially nothing but physical particles with particle sizes ranging from 2.5 to 9.0 micrometers, which can be used for various purposes.
